Feroz Khan was unable to testify before the Madlanga Commission on Tuesday following the death of his uncle-in-law, Preggy Padayachee, in a shooting on the R21 highway. Padayachee was killed near Griffiths Road, close to OR Tambo International Airport, after his vehicle broke down. He had contacted a friend for roadside assistance. The friend and two others arrived shortly after.
Padayachee was shot during the encounter. The incident occurred on Monday night. The timing of the shooting has raised questions in South Africa. The case is under investigation.
This is not the first time Khan has faced legal challenges. He is currently involved in a case related to the 2019 murder of journalist Gerald Morkel.
